On August 19, dozens of Fantastic Finds volunteers gathered on the sales floor of the upscale resale store in Creve Coeur, which is operated by Assistance League of St. Louis (ALSTL) as a year-round fundraiser to support the nonprofit’s community programs. The volunteers were there for their regular update, but much to their surprise, the meeting’s first item wasn’t even on the agenda! Just as the session began, the back door opened, and in walked St. Louis Magazine Account Executive Paul West to announce that Fantastic Finds once again took first place for resale shops in the St. Louis Magazine A List Readers’ Choice Poll! Also participating in the announcement was Creve Coeur Mayor Dr. Robert Hoffman, who read a proclamation from the city recognizing Fantastic Finds’ 20th anniversary in 2024. In addition, Tom Lancia, Executive Director of the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce, joined the celebration to congratulate and thank the volunteers for their service.
This isn’t the first time that Fantastic Finds is ranked #1! The shop was voted #1 in 2022, runner-up in 2023 and #1 again this year. Fantastic Finds Marketing Liaison Sue Ogier said, “Being voted #1 is really a vote of confidence from the community and a wonderful testimonial to the quality of the donated merchandise, the loyal customer base, and the talent and hard work of the all-volunteer staff that runs the store.”
Assistance League of St. Louis President Sandy Thal added, “Like most nonprofits, ALSTL relies on contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations as well as major fundraising events like our upcoming Casino Royale gala. Our biggest fundraiser, however, is Fantastic Finds. That’s why the A List recognition is so important. It lets people throughout the community know about the ‘fantastic finds’ available all year at our must-visit resale shop that features exquisite clothing, jewelry, accessories, home decor and more!”
